Los Angeles 1984 | Helps or Hurts?
Daley's Sacrificial Lamb
Poor Phil Cline. He got thrown under the bus by the Mayor Daley to deflect misconduct by police and misconduct by the Mayor's office
Daley spent close to $700m to renovate Soldier Field for the Chicago Bears, shrinking dimensions and seating capacity, no longer can be used for track-n-field and makes a new stadium necessary for hundreds of millions more.
From chronic corruption to the hired truck scandals and torture allegations under the Daley administration, several people close to Daley have been indicted or are under federal investigation. Many believe Daley is pursuing the Olympic bid to distract from the corruption investigations and wants us to think he's needed for the long-term. U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald may have the final say on the end of Daley's reign.
